World Water Day 2023 can be observed in the following ways:
1. Clean Up Your Local Water Source
Gather some friends and create a Water clean-up crew. This may seem trivial, but litter and garbage pose severe hazards to wildlife. Furthermore, small rivers and streams near you likely feed into larger bodies of Water; if you don’t pick up that discarded six-pack ring, it could end up in the ocean – bad news for fish or seagulls!

2. Reduce Your Water Footprint
It may seem like you use little Water daily, but you would be amazed at how much it takes to perform household tasks. On average, an American shower uses 17 gallons of Water, while a single toilet flush uses 7 gallons. If you want to reduce this usage significantly, products such as low-flow toilets and shower heads can help make that possible.
3. Host an event to raise awareness
For a more significant and immediate impact, organize a charity event. Communities around the world hold events for World Water Day to bring attention to any water-related issues or even collect donations for areas in dire need.
4. Showing Documentary
A documentary on Water can be shown at school and college levels; this would educate and bring awareness among the future generation of kids. They would learn the importance of Water and how to save Water.
5. Start a few NGOs
Some working professionals can come forward and take some time on weekends, come up with different ideas, and choose people to go to people and educate them on how to save Water. For instance, a few activities can be listed, like not wasting Water in the kitchen, bathrooms, and other water sinks; Water should be used preciously.

6. Collecting Funds and Fulfilling its Purpose
We can collect a few donations from people. It could be our family, friends, neighbours, or anyone whom we know, every month we can buy a water tank and donate it to the places where people are facing water issues, and we can place the water tank in such areas so that they can preserve the Water for their uses.
7. Appreciating and Awarding Ideas
The best solution to any problem is being creative and solving it. We can conduct various activities where we encourage people to come up with new ideas as to how to save Water and how can people all around the world, irrespective of the places they live, have access to drinking water. The best ideas that can be practically implemented can be appreciated and rewarded with simple presents so people can get inspiration from them.
8. Create a Water Diary
A water diary can be created in which the details can be mentioned as what are the areas that have a shortage of Water and needs help and the areas where the water problem is solved with the resolutions taken; this way, there would be a clear idea to explain people and also to ask for the help to solve water problems.
9. Workshops and Conferences
Workshops and Conferences can be conducted where people can be educated about water management. People can also be encouraged to give paper presentations doing a little research on water bodies and water sources.

How is world water day so important?
1. It Affects Millions of People
An estimated 780 million people lack access to clean drinking water. Drinking contaminated Water can lead to a host of life-threatening illnesses. While this issue may seem like something out of third-world countries, Flint, Michigan, demonstrated that water issues exist even within the United States.
2. Water Pollution Impacts Wildlife
Water pollution harms wildlife, not just humans, who need clean Water for drinking and habitation. Every year, thousands of animals suffer from pollution in rivers and lakes due to physical litter, wastewater runoff, or chemical runoff that contaminates the water sources used by animals for drinking and living. Pollution can take many forms – from physical litter to wastewater runoff that becomes toxic for those depending on it for drinking and habitation – all contributing factors.
