Shantanu Moitra was born on January 22, 1968. He is an Indian score composer, also a pianist who composed various songs for the Bollywood industry.
He was born in Lucknow, a city in India. But later, to start with his study, he, at a very young moved to the city of Delhi, India, along with his entire family.
He stayed in Patel Nagar in West Delhi, where he studied at Springdale’s School on Pusa Road. In the same school, he became the leader and a singer of a band in 1982.
He is married to Sarada Moitra, an artist, and his son’s name is Shubham Moitra. His father’s name is Sailesh Moitra, he died recently due to covid-19, and his mother’s name is Manju Moitra, also an artist.
At a very early age, his father taught him music, and he developed an interest in music. He bought a guitar for himself when he was ten years old. He also received an award for music in his school when the school never gave any award for music before, but his school gave him this was the turning point of his life and career.
Early Life of Shantanu Moitra
Shantanu was born on January 2, 1968, in Lucknow city. His father belonged to the Bengali musical family. He was exceptionally youthful when he moved to Delhi with his family, where he first resided in Patel Nagar in West Delhi and learned at Springdales School, Pusa Street.
There, he was the pioneer and vocalist of a band, and in 1982, the band facilitated the school’s most memorable stone show. “What was stunningly better was getting an honor in school for my commitment to music when my school, Springdales in Delhi, didn’t ordinarily give grants for music. When I think back now, I think the honour ingrained tremendous trust in me,” he said.
They likewise got melodic preparation from metropolitan people vocalist Sushmit Bose, a Springdale graduate, who might sometimes drop in and educate them.
He studied at Deshbandhu School, Kalkaji, Delhi College, and has a degree in Economics.

His first most famous music composition was for the movie “HazaaronKhwaisheinAisi”, Sudhir Mishra’s movie, and when he created the music, they released the movie, not the audio he composed. Also, the music he composed did not receive any appreciation from the public; this was his first failure and struggle. But later, a senior government official once heard his song, liked it a lot, and asked for a CD, but there was none for the same song in circulation. Then, as per his request, 200 CDs came into circulation, and his failure became a big achievement in life.
