The World Day of the Sick 2023 observed as an Awareness Day. It intended for praying and sharing in the Catholic Church. Of offering about one’s suffering for the good of the Church. And of showing everyone to see in his sick brother or sister the face of Christ.
On 1992 May 13th, Pope John Paul II instituted the memorial of Our Lady of Lourdes. And on February 11th, this day celebrated. Every year World Day of the Sick celebrated on February 11th.
This day commemorates the death of the lady of Lourdes annually. In early 1991, Pope John Paul II diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease, which confirmed in 2001. It important that he decided to create the World Day of the Sick only when he diagnosed with it.

Pope had written a great deal on the topic of suffering and believed it was very much a power to save and redeem through Christ, as he indicated in his apostolic letter Salvifici Doloris.
